The municipality of Boticas is located in the north of Portugal, in the Trás-os- Montes region, Vila Real district. Occupying an area of approximately 322 km2, the municipality of Boticas is bordered by the Tâmega river to the East, by the Serra of Alturas to the west, by the Serras of Leiranco and Pindo to the north, and by the Serras of Melcas or Marcos to the South.

 

This municipality was created through the administrative reform of 1836, corresponding to a part of the medieval Land of Barroso.

 

 

This Symposium, which will take place at the municipal auditorium of Boticas, results from the joint strategy of the University of Minho and the Municipality of Boticas to promote the knowledge transfer and give visibility to municipal heritage sites.

 

The Municipal Auditorium Dr. José S. Fernandes, in the 5 de Outubro street, is located in the centre of the village, next to the Municipal Library and to the City Hall. Being able to accommodate up to 200 participants, it offers simultaneous translation services and social areas.
